We are a nonprofit organization helping other nonprofits organize and manage their Poker Runs and other fundraising charity events.
From the Boy Scouts® to Biker Clubs, community groups, to community churches and schools, POker Runs have become a widely used form of fundraising. The most popular poker runs have been motorcycle runs, but the format has spread to boats, bicycles, and even walking, or just about any other form of transportation you can think of.
The organizers raise their funds by charging a set amount to participate. Participants meet at a pre-arranged starting point, and are given details of their route and the stops, typically 5 or 7 local businesses, they need to make. At each designated stop the participants are dealt a card at random, similar to poker. The card is recorded on the participant's score card, and the winner of the event is the participant who makes the best five card poker hand at the end of the event. Once all participants have made it to the final stop the organizers tally up points based on the gathered cards and declare winners along with the awarding of the prizes.
The average motorcycle poker run is 90 miles, with either 5 or 7 check-in stops, representing the standard 5 or 7 card poker hand. This provides your organization an excellent opportunity to reach out to local businesses about your organization and the benefits of sponsoring themselves as a designated stop. This is a dedicated audience you'll be providing for the business and anything they can do to help you also helps themselves.
Our patented unique virtual poker run system takes care of registering participants, selling hands, tracking stops and cards, and calculating winners, so you can concentrate on the bigger picture. The benefits of using the PokerRun.org are a perfect fit for nearly any organization. Once you've registered and entered a few details about your event, our system will provide you a link to your own event page where you can sell "hands"; great for flyers, websites, and emails. Once your event is underway, our apps for iPhone®, iPad®, & Android™ quickly check-in your participants and randomly deal their cards at each stop; the "hands" are stored in our database and at the end of your Poker Run event, the winner(s) are calculated automatically.
